Fisher Industries is hiring a Heavy Equipment Paver Mechanic to join their team. This is a hands-on role requiring expertise in repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a variety of asphalt equipment and heavy machinery. - Location: Varies based on project sites
- Position Type: Full-Time Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- Travel Required: Frequent travel to job sites
- Core Responsibilities: Maintain and repair asphalt pavers, rollers, loaders, trailers, and other equipment
Primary Responsibilities
- Safety First: Follow safe practices during all work-related activities
- Diagnosis and Repair: Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues accurately and efficiently
- Read Schematics: Use blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for troubleshooting and repairs
- Electric and Hydraulic Systems: Diagnose and repair complex electric and hydraulic malfunctions
- Field Repairs: Perform on-site repairs at job sites as needed in a fast-paced environment
- Asphalt Equipment Knowledge: Experience with repairing pavers, loaders, rollers, and other construction equipment
- Weekend/Night Work: May be required occasionally based on project deadlines
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project teams and supervisors to ensure optimal equipment performance
Requirements and Qualifications
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years old
- CDL License: Valid Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements (or ability to obtain)
- Medical Certification: DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- Driving Record: Acceptable MVR as per company policy
- Technical Knowledge: Strong background in vehicle and heavy equipment repair
- Detail-Oriented: Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Mechanical Training: Formal training in mechanical or heavy equipment repair
- Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency with email, smartphones, and spreadsheets
- Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams
- Weather Adaptability: Ability to work under extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, and rain)
