Fisher Industries is hiring CDL Class A or B Bulk Truck Drivers to transport hazardous materials in and around Salt Lake City, UT. This role offers overnight travel, additional per diem pay, and exposure to a range of heavy civil construction operations. - Location: Salt Lake City, UT – Frequent travel to various job sites throughout Utah and beyond
- Position Type: Full-Time CDL-A or B Driver for bulk tanker hauling
- Travel Perks: $25 per diem for overnight travel on workdays
- Core Responsibilities: Transport hazardous materials safely while maintaining and inspecting your assigned equipment
Primary Responsibilities
- Load and Unload Hazardous Materials: Follow all company, DOT, and safety regulations
- Operate Bulk Tanker Trucks: Comply with company policies and state/federal laws
- Route and Traffic Compliance: Drive over required routes, observing traffic and DOT regulations
- Documentation: Submit accurate and timely paperwork
- Safety Inspections: Conduct inspections on trucks, equipment, and job sites
- Routine Maintenance: Check oil, fuel, tires, and other equipment essentials daily
- Malfunction Reporting: Report equipment issues to Fleet or Driver Managers
- Auxiliary Equipment: Operate pumps, spill kits, and fire extinguishers
- Permit Review: Understand special route and safety considerations
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Assist with loading and unloading at job sites
- Adverse Conditions: Work and drive in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, and snow)
Requirements and Qualifications
- Age: Minimum of 21 years
- CDL: Valid Class A or B CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements
- Medical Certification: DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- MSHA Certification: Part 46 and Part 48 preferred or willingness to obtain (company-sponsored)
- Background Check: Must pass federal criminal background screening
- Drug Test: Pre-employment testing required
- Driving Record: Acceptable MVR as per company policy
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate equipment on rough terrain
